Yellow and grain

I have GOT to get a gray card; a lot of my backyard photos look yellowish like this:

And I love this one, except the darn grain!

Blah blah blah

Technically, this was crap. It was in the shadows of a very bright day and my white balance was all off, resulting in a very blue image. I PP it to try and balance that out some, but aside from that, I love this picture of my son; he loves to talk and this is him, laying down the law on some subject.

Indoor work

I mostly shy away from taking very many pictures indoors unless there are huge windows or glass doors around, but today I decided to take a shot at it. My living room has so-so lighting and to get a decent shutter speed I had to shoot at 800 ISO, resulting in a lot of grain, of course. PSP does a decent job of reducing noise, but I think I'll invest in noiseware software at some point.

My adorable model:

Tootsies!

Just my kids--again :P

I gotta get some new subjects! We've been playing in our front yard more lately--the mosquitoes aren't as bad out there and my son likes to ride his trike on the driveway and climb the Japanese Maple tree.

Not going to a portrait studio this year!
